Before moving in Delhi, inspect the access conditions at both properties. Confirm the floor, lift or staircase situation and determine where the moving vehicle can legally and practically stop for loading or unloading.
If you live in a gated apartment community, check security procedures and permitted moving hours. For a builder floor or property on a narrow residential lane, consider whether a larger vehicle can approach the entrance and whether bulky furniture can move safely through the staircase.
Create a room-by-room inventory before requesting the final quotation. Check wardrobes, lofts, balconies and storage spaces and remove belongings that you no longer need. This makes the shipment easier to estimate and prevents paying to move items you intend to discard later.
Measure large sofas, beds, tables and wardrobes when access appears limited. Identifying furniture that may require dismantling before moving day can prevent delays.
Keep identification documents, jewellery, cash, medicines, laptops, chargers, keys and other important belongings in a separate personal bag.
For electronics, photograph complicated cable connections before disconnecting them and keep related cables and accessories together. Label cartons according to their destination rooms and clearly identify fragile boxes.
If you are moving between Delhi and Gurugram, Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad or another NCR location, check access conditions at the destination as carefully as those at the pickup address.
Before leaving your old property, inspect cupboards, lofts, balconies, bathrooms and utility areas. At the destination, place large furniture first and direct labelled cartons straight to their respective rooms so that the entrance does not become crowded with boxes.
